Needing magic.

I got my marching orders for swim practice.  OMG!  After I read them,  I immediately contacted my swim coach Adiel for help when I start next week.  I really don't know if I can do this initially and will need some remedial help to get started.  Just not sure.   But in the middle of my doubts I am thinking about my friend Ann who is swimming through unchartered waters now.   Her path is more difficult than mine so NO WHINING for me!  Here is the swim routine.  Frankly I am not really sure what it all means.....Adiel, help!

Cheat Sheet:
25 = 1 lap = 1 length
50 = 2 laps
75 = 3 laps
100 = 4 laps
200 = 8 laps

Warm up:  100 easy swimming

Drills:    10 x 25s (9 slow laps with 10-30 seconds rest in between each)
  • ·         Laps 1-3 kick
  • ·         Laps 4-6 kick while breathing to the side
  • ·         Laps 7-9 catch up drill (touching hands in front, breathing to the side)
  • ·         Lap 10- freestyle
  • ·         Focus on breathing out entirely underwater, and inhaling as you turn your head

Main Set:             8 x 50s with 15 seconds rest in between each 50
                            4 x 100 with 20 seconds rest in between each 100

Warm Down: 100 easy swimming

I've been doing intervals on the treadmill while waiting to go home to Savannah.  My routine is: walk 1/4 mile, run 1/4 mile, walk 1/4 mile, run 1/4 mile and so forth.  Then I've been doing lunges and squats and various free weight activity after which I get on the elliptical for more time.
My friend in Savannah Antonella has offered to be a training partner with me.  She is a blast-------Italian, so what can I say, married to a very cool Belgian guy, a great couple,  so it will be fun and lots of laughs to train with her.  Her hubby and my hubby are in a magic club together.   Really, a magic club.   I need some magic SOON.
