12 hours to go

Joe and I went to the pasta carb up tonight. I really wasn't so much about the pasta as it was about a motivational dinner. Immediately before we had a team meeting. The guy next to me stood up to say that his sister died nine years ago today from leukemia. On the TNT staff and as participants there are several people who are long term survivors. One woman spoke who had lost her husband in May. In fact she stood up to speak and was so overcome with grief that her friend had to speak for her. The keynote dinner speaker was a woman who is a 15 year survivor of two bouts of lymphoma. In the room, grown men were wiping their eyes. The dinner included the GA team as well as Western North Carolina team and the Eastern NC team. Of the three TNT chapters in attendance, there were 205 participants who raised $560 k in total for this one event. It is very difficult to listen to the various speakers but we can't avoid it just because it is gut-wrenching. We can thank God for sparing us and our loved ones.
Weather conditions tomorrow still are predicted to be difficult. Half of the course is on the ocean so on-shore winds could be tough. Conditions will determine how much I walk and run out of the total 26.2 miles--it doesn't matter cause I will cross the finish line. Thanks to everybody who reads this. I love you all.
Milly
